Exercise
This can be the highlight or the absolute most-dreaded part of your day. Either way, it needs to be a part of your everyday. Some people will tell you to “workout” 3-4 times weekly. But my approach is slightly different. If you train your brain to an understanding that activity and exercise is a vital component to heart health, you can implement simple and frequent activity in your daily life. This way, you embed the concept into your everyday routine and it soon becomes second nature. Some examples of activities that you can benefit from are:
It may sound silly, but every little bit helps. I tell some of my younger clients to make having young children a lively and silly moment as often as possible. This way, you exhaust the energy of the children, get your cardio in and you both win. And ladies, believe me I know the struggle with the up and down sex drive, but trust me, you will not only be satisfying your partner, but ‘sexercise’ is one of the best forms of exercise! Although I do believe the gym is a great avenue, and if that’s your thing, go for it. But for those of you like me, my comfort zone is sometimes my neighborhood or my home, especially with working any full-time job. Many times, I find myself randomly turning on music and dancing. No rhyme or reason, just because I can. -DoGood |
