This can be the highlight of your day, or the absolute most-dreaded part of your day, but either way, it needs to be a part of your everyday.
Some people will tell you to “workout” 3-4 times weekly. But my approach is slightly different.
If you get it in your mind that activity and exercise is most important to your heart health, you can implement simple, frequent activity in your life daily. This way, you embed this in your everyday and it soon becomes second nature.
Some examples of activity that you can benefit from is as simple as walking the trash outside or to the street, sweeping instead of vacuuming (although vacuuming is activity as well), park a good distance away from your destination, wherever your destination.
It may sound silly, but every little bit helps. I tell some of my younger clients to make having young children a lively and silly moment as often as possible. This way, you tire the kids out, get your cardio in and you both win.
And ladies, believe me I know the struggle with the up and down sex drive, but trust me, you will not only be satisfying your partner, but ‘sexercise’ is one of the best forms of exercise!
Although I do believe the gym is a great avenue, and if that’s your thing, go for it.
But for those of you like me, my comfort zone is sometimes my neighborhood or my home.
Many times, I find myself randomly turning on music and dancing. No rhyme or reason, just because I can.
